How do you feel when your children fight with each other?

A lot of parents tell me they get sucked in to the fights that their children have. When their kids fight they become very upset. So much so that they have trouble controlling anger.

I want to discuss why that’s a problem on two levels.

First of all, all children fight. This is normal. It is part of their development. It is part of growing up. This is how children learn to resolve conflicts with peers. It is a training ground for their future world so that when they become adults they will be able to deal with other people peacefully.

Your children learn how to resolve conflicts over various things by having brothers and sisters to fight with. That’s part of the magic benefit of having siblings.

But the bigger problem is… how do you react to it?

If you’re reacting by getting angry or upset; it could indicate to one or two things.

First of all, it’s almost certain that you take your child’s behavior personally as a reflection upon you. That’s wrong!

Your children do not reflect you, they don’t reflect your parenting skills and you should not take it personally if your children fight.

More importantly, it might indicate that you have something of an anger problem or anger management issues that are invading your home. If that’s the case, then you want to find out right away and eliminate these problems.

What you can do right now is to see and evaluate that situation. I have for you an anger information page, where you can get a questionnaire and you can go there and evaluate whether or not you have an anger problem or your children have an anger problem in your home or not.

What you can do is, to go right now to http://ccparenting.com/anger and find out if there is an anger problem in your home or not.

You will know right away if you have an anger problem. Also, you will also get tips on anger management tips emailed to you, after a couple of days, in order to help you with this problem.
