[Then, after everyone has spoken we will all agree together on the best possible way to “do mornings” well]

I have a bit of a problem with this one line. It suggests that families are a Democracy. Perhaps I'm misinterpreting. I'd be more inclined to suggest that everyone has a 'voice' in the discussion vs. a 'vote'. I think it should always be clear that the decision is ultimately up to the parent. At some point you could end up with all the kids wanting something that you don't agree with and it can become a problem (particularly as they hit their teens).

Again, perhaps I've just misinterpreted. Other than that one line, this is really good material. I TOTALLY agree with the idea of family meetings to discuss issues. I think it's a powerful tool and one that we have not been doing enough of. Thanks for the encouragement.

This sounds like a really good idea for kids that get out of bed. Mine does not. Saye she doesn't fit in with the school she's in this year. Thanks for sharing your ideas. My daughter is AD/HD - ODD to the extreme.
